Pamela Dow is the Chief Operating Officer of Civic Future, a new organisation aiming to open up politics and public life to a broader range of talent. Before this, she was a Senior Civil Servant, most recently in the Cabinet Office, where she founded and led a Skills Campus and Leadership College to restore quality and rigour to civil service training.
Beginning her career as a consultant and lobbyist through the Blair years, Dow has held various roles spanning the private, public, and social sectors. She has worked on major public service reforms in education and criminal justice, holding positions in the Department for Education, both before and after the 2010 election, the Ministry of Justice, and HMP Wandsworth. She also spent time in Tech City UK (Tech Nation), experiencing the contrasts of start-up, ‘hire slow, fire fast’ cultures.
